Episode 143: Futuristik Musick
Another footwork episode, this one with some footwork-tempo Drun’n’Bass in the mix. I initially called this one Footwork vs Jungle, but if so the footwork quickly overpowered and assimilated the competition. Om Unit and Philip D Kick and Dawn Day Night and Malou are not just hopelessly outnumbered, they all contribute heavily Chicago-influenced tracks. Sinistarr’s contribution is the only real resistance, and it’s more Autonomic than Jungle.
Fun fact: after putting this episode together I double-checked the archives and noticed that the Young Smoke track that gives the episode its name featured in an earlier episode. I try not to repeat tunes except in best of year episodes, so… oops
