Episode 145: Little Steps

This latest episode starts with a wash of gentle surf and ends with a wash of applause. In between it goes all over the place, taking some odd routes. The idea I went into it with was taking episode 143’s description of “Jungle vs Footwork” and making it a bit more of a fair fight. However, I’d used up most of the 160 BPM Jungle and was left with D’n’B (a subtle enough distinction that I’m still not sure I 100% get it).

There’s also an inclusion of some avant club, in the form of Warsnare and Hanz, alternative rock remixed from Curve, and PBDY bringing the hip-hop.

As before, a good deal of the tunes here reside in that fun interzone where 160 BPM DnB and footwork influence each other, breakbeats mingle with deep bass triplets, and genre is less clear cut. Groupers and splitters beware!
