Episode 153: Don’t Stop the Dance

This episode ran a little long. Seven minutes or so. The main idea was to do a Plaid sandwich, with the album version of “Maru” at the beginning and the excellent Orbital remix of the same at the end. So when the (also excellent) penultimate track, “Inside of Me,” went over time, I plowed forward. Tried to fix it in post by speeding things up a bit, but it was not enough.

Extra length aside, I quite like this one. I’ve been listening to it over and over, which is usually a good sign. The house and disco, with a bit of Talking-Heads-by-way-of-LCD dance rock (courtesy of Athens, Georgia’s Partials) leads into A Made Up Sound’s bizarre techno stutter and Organit’s deeeeep deep techno throb, before the mix course-corrects back to house and disco, with some TB-303 acid in tow. As mentioned above, it all loops back to where it started, before concluding in what Brian Musikoff dubbed a “flange-out.”
