Episode 157: Blow Yo Head Off
This episode starts things off with a protean track from Morwell, which spins through various permutations of jungle breaks. From there, we’re once again in drum’n’werk territory, sliding around between footwork and 160 BPM drum’n’bass, finding all the gradients of cross-influence in between.
Heavily represented are Fracture, who appears with a track off his recent EP and again on a collaboration with Taso; and Amon Tobin, who appears under his own name as well as his early Cujo alias. Also plenty of tracks from the Astrophonica Gradients compilations and the Juke Bounce Werk JBDUBZ comps.
So, nothing groundbreaking or mind-blowingly new, but (IMHO) a good selection of interesting tracks, well sequenced and mixed. There’s your pull quote! For all the hyperbole missing here, see the episode title. It’ll do ya!
