Episode 173: The World Is A Very Scary Place
This here episode, in its formative stages, kept flip flopping between being dark songs to plumb the depths of self-quarantine and being light happy songs to take one’s mind off (what seemed at the time) such a terrible situation (were we ever so innocent?!) while refusing to settle on either.
It finally came together when I just let it be precisely that– a soundtrack to the bipolar experience of solitude. From deepest dread to manic bravado (I’ma use a smartphone app to learn Japanese!). So we have gawfick dance rock segueing through insanity rock to nu-disco and house… before crashing back down to moody atmospheric D’n’B and back and forth, until euphoria and gallows humor become one and the same.
Enjoy!
