Episode 202: Felony
The heart of this episode is a tribute to SOPHIE, an artist whose work, I have to admit here and now, I slept on for way too long. On either side of SOPHIE’s track “BIPP” I have two tracks that seem to have been strongly influenced by her sonic innovations, that squeaky metallic sheen to the sound that initially put me off but which I’ve since learned to appreciate. Following this candy-coated stretch there is a chaser of dark sounds from POLE and Denman’s Semita Serpens project. I surrounded this contradictory core with layers of house, disco, techno and dance pop. This one is pretty great, if I do say so myself. Give it a listen!
